Polestar präsentiert beim Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 (–26.6.) zum ersten Mal öffentlich einen Entwicklungsprototyp des Polestar 5. Der viertüriger GT mit 800-Volt-Architektur soll in der Serie über 650 kW (884 PS) leisten und ein Drehmoment von 900 Newtonmetern liefern. Er basiert auf dem 2020 vorgestellten Konzeptfahrzeug Precept. Der neu entwickelte Antriebsstrang soll sich aus einem Front- und einem Heckmotor zusammensetzen.
Der Polestar 5 wird während der Veranstaltung zweimal täglich in der „First Glance“-Gruppe den legendären Hügel von Goodwood hinauffahren. Das Auto soll 2024 auf den Markt kommen und ist nach den den beiden SUV Polestar 3 und Polestar 4 das dritte von drei neuen Elektroautos, die Polestar in den kommenden drei Jahren auf den Markt bringen wird.
